Turn your Markdown notes into a listening library. Narrate connects Obsidian to a local OpenAI-compatible TTS server and recommends OpenVox for its speech workflow.

  • Read a whole note or play a selected sentence.
  • Use chunk prefetching, a playback toolbar, and per-note resume.
  • Filter Markdown content and export spoken notes as WAV audio.

Connect your notes to a local voice

  1. 1. Start OpenVoxDownload a speech model and start the server in Local API + MCP.
  2. 2. Connect NarrateInstall and enable the plugin, paste OpenVox’s base URL ending in /v1, and choose a model and voice.
  3. 3. Listen in ObsidianOpen a note, select a sentence, and click its play button. The setup guide walks through each screen.
